Purpose


Determines tests strategy and manages complex software tests, according to the agreed
test procedures, time and budget, in order to determine the software quality.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Test Strategy
    Formulates test strategy, within the defined standards, to enable accurate testing of
    complex software solutions.

    Main activities
  • Risk-analyses;
  • Analyses test environment;
  • Gathers input from stakeholders (e.g. PM, QA, functional designers);
  • Documents test strategy.
  1. Master test plan
    Designs the master test plan for complex software solutions, in line with the test strategy
    and project plan, in order to obtain a precise overview of time, budget, risks and
    resources.

    Main activities
  • Analyses complex projects plans and constraints;
  • Determines time, budget and resources;
  • Plans activities and milestones;
  • Plans team members (e.g. test coordinator, testers);
  • Gets commitment from stakeholders for test plan.
  1. Managing, reporting and administration
    Manages the test process of complex software solutions, according to the agreed test
    plan, so that the software quality can be determined and an objective go/no decision can
    be made.

    Main activities
  • Manages test process (e.g. time, budget and quality);
  • Reports progress to stakeholders;
  • Advices on Go/No-Go.
  1. Consulting
    Follows market trends and proactively makes proposals to improve or use new test
    methodologies and tools.

    Main activities
  • Has up to date knowledge of the new test methodologies and tools;
  • Defines a vision on testing;
  • Improves quality of testing process.
  1. Coaching
    Develops and coaches (jr) Test Engineers in order to assist them in their growth.

    Main activities
  • Transfer of knowledge;
  • Assists with complex activities;
  • Advises on required roles, competences and training.

  1. Sales
    Proactively signals and generates new company-business in order to obtain extra income and
    increase customer satisfaction.

    Main activities
  • Informs account management on possible extra work;
  • Negotiates with customer for additional work;
  • Produces independently commercially feasible proposals;
  • Takes the lead in (parts of) large and complex sales cases (national and international);
  • Generates leads from own network;
  1. Planning & Administration
    Ensures timely and correct planning and administration of the project/contract team within
    company standards and agreements and in accordance with customer-administrations, to
    ensure a professional delivery.

    Main activities
  • Ensures timely and correct administration of time sheets of the project/contract team;
  • Ensures team delivery within time, within budget and agreed quality;
  • Monitors progress of project/contract team;
  • Communicates on forehand about possible delays or overrun.

 


Job Requirements

Education

  • (level of) BSc degree in IT;
  • Test skills and methodologies.


Experience, knowledge and skills

  • Over 3 years of experience in testing;
  • At least 1 year experience in test coordination;
  • Understanding the customer domain;
  • In depth experience and understanding of test methodologies.
